We are excited to announce the launch of the 2026 WeCoded Challenge!
This year marks our ninth year celebrating the voices of marginalized and underrepresented developers in DEV. Our journey began in 2017 with However, She Coded, a movement focused on solidarity and storytelling. Since then, we've grown and evolved, transitioning to WeCoded in 2023 to expand our community acceptance and launching our first official challenge last year.
For 2026, we continue this celebration by offering a space for both reflection and creation. While our classic writing prompt returns for those who want to share their personal journeys and advice, we're also introducing a whole new way to engage through code and visual expression.
